New Comics may seem like an innocent little cartoon comic from the early years of the Golden Age of comics, but New Comics was in fact the original name of what would go on to become New Adventure Comics, and then would see its name change once again to Adventure Comics, one of DC's most-successful and longest-running titles. Once oversized New Fun Comics was published, DC founder Wheeler-Nicholson quickly put out the smaller New Comics, a compendium of humor and adventure comic strips, also establishing what would come to be known as the standard size of a comicbook in the process.


Artist Information

Walt Kelly is an American animator/ cartoonist who began his career working at Walt Disney studios contributing to animated films like Pinnochio, Fantasia and Dumbo. Walt later went on to work for Dell comics where he is most famous for creating the comic strip Pogo, which became his platform for social and philosophical commentary.
