DESCRIPTION
Ray Moore Phantom Sunday Strip 11-8-1942 Bottom half

Phantom fans - offered here is a 1942 original Ray Moore Phantom Sunday strip. Story is "Castle in the clouds". Comic historians have long noted that Lee Falk considered Moore the best artist on the Phantom, thanks to his talent for drawing gorgeous girls. Almost a year after these episodes from "Castle in the Clouds" story line appeared, Moore turned the art chores of the Phantom over to his assistant Wilson McCoy, due to an accident that Moore had suffered during his time as a World War II pilot. To comic strip historians, Moore is nearly as mysterious as the Phantom - only three photos of him are known to exist, he rarely gave an interview, he revealed little about his private life. Original strips by Moore are incredibly scarce, Sunday strips are impossible to find and usually better drawn. Approximate image area of 28" x 9". Very Good condition
