Known for his exquisite linework and eye-popping yet sympathetic portrayals of beautiful women, Baker's historic status as one of the few black artists working in the mid-20th Century comic industry has triggered a reevaluation of his standing in the pantheon of graphic artists. The scarcity of much of his work--especially in high grade--has fueled the frenzy of collectors, with Baker's Phantom Lady covers easily the most in demand.
To further entice the serious comic connoisseur, this is not only the highest-graded copy of this issue, but is also the Edgar Church/Mile High copy. We see a lot of very nice books here, but even we were taken aback by how well-preserved and handsome this copy is.
