"Avengers: Age of Ultron" (2015) has become the fifth-highest-grossing movie of all time, with "The Avengers" (2012) sitting just ahead in third place. The continuing rise in popularity of the films have catapulted sales of the original Silver Age series and later affiliated titles. It is safe to say that as the Avengers film franchise continues, so will public interest and comic sales, which always correlates to an increase in market value. Marvel will be continuing to release projected Avengers films as far in the future as 2019. These comics will have a considerable amount of time to build value if the current success rate is any indicator. Avengers 1 debuted in September 1963, as a way of piggybacking on the success of DC's Justice League and Marvel's original super team, The Fantastic Four. With art by Jack Kirby and story by Stan Lee, this Silver Age key issue has garnered a tremendous amount of respect and value recently. For the first time we see The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Ant-Man, and Wasp join forces to become Earth's Mightiest Heroes. As far as Marvel keys are concerned, Avengers 1 is still an undervalued comic. Avengers Assemble!
Wonderful high grade copy of the very first issue of this Marvel classic. Sure to be the centerpiece of any serious silver ago Marvel collection.
