From an original owner collection from upstate New York, this book is just gorgeous. The comic was purchased off the newsstand in 1940 and kept safely for over 70 years. The inks on the cover look like they dried yesterday. The pitch black background contrasts against the bright red and green of GL's costume and his would be assailant. This copy is from an original owner collection from upstate New York. The octagenarian collector bought all of his prized comics off the newsstand. Relatives of the collector were worried that he had thrown all his comics away years ago. After they recovered the comics it took five years to convince the owner to sell.
