This iconic comic remains the Silver Age equivalent of Action Comics #1 as both a cultural artifact and a great investment for collectors. Jack Kirby ushered in the historic first appearance of Spider-Man on the classic cover; Steve Ditko took over the interior art as he worked with co-creator Stan Lee on this legendary debut. The story also set up the radical new concept of a neurotic Everyman behind the mask All of that made for a timeless collectible that's kept Spider-Man (and his very human alter-ego) swinging for over 60 years as one of the most iconic characters in comics.
In any grade this book is always worth having/investing in. At a solid VG/4.0 with strong colors and white/off wite pages you would be hard pressed to find a better investment. Especially if the higher grade copies are out of your reach, which they are to many collectors. For serious collectors this is the perfect copy to fill in that hole in your Spidey collection!
Overstreet Guide 2016 VG (4.0) value = $11,000.

LEARN MORE Artist InformationJack Kirby is called 'The King of Comics' for a reason, during his career that spanned six decades he gave us many of the most iconic characters the medium would ever see. From his introduction of Captain America at the height of World War II it was clear he wasn't your ordinary comics artist. But it was his creative explosion at Marvel Comics in the 1960's that cemented his legacy, over a short period of time Kirby would give us The Fantastic Four, Iron Man, The Hulk, The X-Men, Thor, Ant-Man and Nick Fury just to name a few. Kirby would then go to DC and create his Fourth World, introducing Darkseid, Mister Miracle, The New Gods and a host of cosmic supporting players. Long live The King.
