Gaines File CopyIf you are like me and had no idea what the name of obscure fanzine Squa Tront meant, you can find your answer within the pages of Weird Fantasy #15 (#3), apparently, it is a Martian exclamation expressing surprise. The devil is in the details as they say, and a great deal of the fun that can be gleaned from reading classic comics is rewarded by being attentive to the small moments. EC strove to place their stories in a believable universe much like our own to make their tales relatable, whether they be about murder, Martians, or Morlocks, and this grounding in reality helped make their far-fetched sci-fi tales all the more digestible. The stories in this issue are typical of EC’s output, concise, well-executed, with a punchline that never fails to hit home.
