The Marvel Cinematic Universe dominated the box office thanks to the singular threat of Thanos, the Mad Titan. The legendary creation of writer/artist Jim Starlin made his first appearance in the pages of Iron Man #55, and this classic comic has continued to increase in value alongside nostalgia for Marvel's big-screen success. Starlin also took the opportunity to introduce readers to Thanos' companion creation Drax the Destroyer, who'd find his own big-screen fame in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.

There are even more memorable first appearances crammed into this epic collectible, including Mentor, Starfox, and the dire threat of the Blood Brothers. Josh Brolin—who famously starred as Thanos in the Marvel movies—recently revived rumors of his character making a big-screen return, while reminding fans of how Thanos is still a villainous favorite whose diabolical debut remains a top investment.
