Lightning's origin tale begins with explorer Robert Morgan gaining super powers from an ancient mystic he encounters in a pyramid, granting him the abilities of electricity manipulation, invulnerability, super-speed, strength, and flight. Lightning was so successful that he also appeared regularly in Four Favorites at the same time as his own title, and the character would go on to be revived a few times after his initial run, proving the enduring impact the Lightning made during his brief time in the spotlight.
