rare!! Superman by Siegel and ShusterIn "The Big Scoop" Lois Lane plays a nasty prank on the hapless Clark Kent causing him to miss the last train to the scene of a dam collapse, which he easily attends anyway, because he's Superman after all. Upon his arrival he holds the dam together long enough to save many lives, but Lois ends up getting swept away in a raging flood, a scenario which was referenced to great effect in 1978's Superman, starring Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder. This book presents the fifth appearance of Superman ever, as well as the first kiss between the Man of Steel and Lois Lane. Add that to the scarcity of this comic, in any condition, and a perfect storm of value and desirability is baked in.

Joseph Shuster was a Canadian-American comic book artist best known for co-creating the DC Comics character Superman, with writer Jerry Siegel, in Action Comics #1.
