Chris Giarrusso is a Marvel artist known for his child-sized versions of notable characters

Here's a delectable signed piece of work by niche comic artist Chris Giarrusso that pays a handsome tribute to Tony Moore, commemorating Moore's famous cover illustration for The Walking Dead #1. Giarrusso, the creator of the Mini Marvels comic series, is emerging as the king of cute kiddie-style comic illustration, and Walking Dead fans got a kick out of this change-of-pace alternative cover when it was published as a variant to Walking Dead #103. Though it may be a counter-intuitive approach, the piece emphasizes the status of the comic book as a burgeoning phenomenon.

Set the cute-ified part aside and the details of the original cover have been faithfully rendered, showing Sheriff Rick Grimes reloading his rifle in front of a broken shop window, where a pack of hungry walkers is reflected in the shattered glass and the reader knows nothing will ever be the same. Cute walkers are endearing walkers, but scary nonetheless. This published cover is a great collectible for Walking Dead and Giarrusso fans alike.
