This iconic comic remains the Silver Age equivalent of Action Comics #1 as both a cultural artifact and a great investment for collectors. Jack Kirby ushered in the historic first appearance of Spider-Man on the classic cover; Steve Ditko took over the interior art as he worked with co-creator Stan Lee on this legendary debut. The story also set up the radical new concept of a neurotic Everyman behind the mask All of that made for a timeless collectible that's kept Spider-Man (and his very human alter-ego) swinging for over 60 years as one of the most iconic characters in comics.

Although the Fantastic Four was the title that initiated the Marvel Age, things didn't really reach a fever pitch until 'ol Webhead arrived on the scene, basically giving Marvel their own version of Superman: a hallmark hero, who would become the instantly recognizable ambassador for the publisher. This copy is signed by Spider-Man's co-creator Stan "The Man" Lee, and it is tied for the highest-graded signed copy on the census. Now is your chance to take home this important piece of comic book history. Excelsior!

Artist Information

Jack Kirby is called 'The King of Comics' for a reason, during his career that spanned six decades he gave us many of the most iconic characters the medium would ever see. From his introduction of Captain America at the height of World War II it was clear he wasn't your ordinary comics artist. But it was his creative explosion at Marvel Comics in the 1960's that cemented his legacy, over a short period of time Kirby would give us The Fantastic Four, Iron Man, The Hulk, The X-Men, Thor, Ant-Man and Nick Fury just to name a few. Kirby would then go to DC and create his Fourth World, introducing Darkseid, Mister Miracle, The New Gods and a host of cosmic supporting players. Long live The King.
