1st Superman by Siegel and Shuster; possibly the most famous and most important comic ever published!
Highest Graded
The most important comic book in the history of comic books. This is the introduction of the archetype of all other heroes to come. Superman transcends comic books and pop culture. He is an icon of Truth, Justice and The American Way! Created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, Superman is quite possibly the most recognizable fictional character in the world. The creation of two struggling sci-fi fans from the Rust Belt, the Man of Steel became an instant icon to depression-era readers, and easily transformed into an icon of American spirit and spunk during the brutal days of WWII. Since then, he has lasted as both a beloved character and a symbol of modern hope and vigor, making this first appearance not just a piece of comics' history, but of American history as well.

When last sold in 1993, it crushed the record for the most valuable comic ever sold. Will it regain that title? Only time will tell.

One of the finest UNRESTORED copies in the existence. 2nd highest graded (with the highest graded being an 8.5)

Simply a tremendous investment grade copy of the most important comic book ever published. A milestone event of the 20th Century. We could go on and on but it somehow seems unnecessary to exclaim the virtues of an unrestored VF Action Comics #1.

The Superman comic that will save a family's home from foreclosure has already eclipsed pre-auction estimates and is going strong.

This comic was found in the basement of a home on the verge of foreclosure and was "a very happy accident," says ComicConnect.com's Stephen Fishler, CEO.

The newly discovered comic is the legendary comic book that introduced Superman to the world. In this case, Superman really did save the day.

"We are on pins and needles checking at least twice a day to see what our book is up to," said the consignor, who wishes to remain anonymous. "This is beyond our wildest dreams!"

When CGC originally graded this book the page quality was cream to off white pages. When the book was submitted for a review, the page quality was changed. Having seen the book just before it was reviewed, we feel CGC was overly harsh on their evaluation and disagree with their rating.

This is your chance! It's not like these things grow on trees, though it may seem that way if you've been following the ComicConnect.com Event Auctions for the last year! Here is the 5th copy we have offered for sale in the last year and a half. 3 in 3.0 - 15 higher.

This is a knockout of a copy. A truly affordable copy of Action #1! This 3.0 has the eye appeal of a higher grade. "I've held this book in my hands outside of the CGC holder and it is remarkable. Great paper, supple pages, good color and completely unrestored" stated ComicConnect.com COO, Vincent Zurzolo.

In March, ComicConnect brought to market an Action Comics #1 CGC 6.0. The auction made global headline news. Consequently, a second Action Comics #1 CGC 1.8 was uncovered and consigned to ComicConnect, and sold in their following Event Auction on May 1st. And now, a THIRD Action Comics #1 is brought to market, graded a CGC 2.5 with white pages. This copy comes from the State of Washington. The consignor's mother, who passed away fourteen years ago, told her son she remembered owning it ever since she was a little girl in grade school. By the time she was in high school, she began to recognize that the first Superman appearance was something of significance, and began to preserve the comic book for safekeeping. Her son recalls first seeing it when she showed it to him when he was a freshman in high school, back in 1984. His mother impressed upon him that it was something of value. In 1989, they moved it to a bank security box, and now it is brought to market for the first time in over 60 years.

An older gentleman called from the Midwest regarding a comic book he and his brother, as young boys, purchased off the newsstand in 1938, stated Vincent Zurzolo. Sadly, his brother has since passed away, but the two had kept the comic for over 70 years. The man has decided to bring the comic book to market by consigning it to ComicConnect's next Event Auction. Although being given light tan to off white pages, the owners of ComicConnect.com want to assure any perspective buyer that the pages are very sharp, supple and look good. ComicConnect.com is extending a 6 month time payment plan to the winning bidder. Email [email protected] for details. Here is an affordable copy of the book that started it all! While noted as brittle pages, this is, in our opinion the least brittle book of any book we have seen CGC graded brittle. I personally held this book in my hands before it was encapsulated and flipped through every page with no problem whatsoever. CGC No Grade: 0.3
3/5th of front cover #0965837001
1st Superman by Siegel and Shuster; possibly the most famous and most important comic ever published!
Recently ComicConnect.com was contacted by a couple from the New England area who had uncovered a piece of what they believed to be the front cover of Action #1. The experts at ComicConnect.com confirmed it was truly an original part of an Action Comics #1 and CGC encapsulated it after determining it was what they have termed 3/5 of the front cover.

While the logo is missing the piece features the most memorable part of Action #1, the image of Superman about to throw the car! This is the perfect item for the collector who might not spend six figures for a comic but wants a piece of comic history-quite literally.

The consignor said he was reading USA Today and came across the article about the 6.0 Action Comics #1. He recognized the image of Superman hurling the car and recalled seeing it in his father s old things.

Unfortunately, his dad had passed on some years ago, but he decided to rummage through his dad s keepsakes and came across this item. As it turned out his dad had been an avid comic collector in the 30s and 40s. During WW II, he left for Europe to fight in the Army and upon his return found his parents had thrown out his collection. He was very upset. It is believed that the father had somehow hung onto the cover and kept it with his postcard collection and that is exactly where his son found it.

ComicConnect.com CEO, Stephen Fishler stated recently, "I've seen coverless copies of Action #1, a front cover...never."

1st Superman by Siegel and Shuster; possibly the most famous and most important comic ever published!
