ow/white pages Ditko's 1st published work; rare as only issue ever printed (becomes Radiant Love); COMIC BOOK IMPACT rating of 8 (CBI)
Steve Ditko became a published artist in this rare comic that changed its title to Radiant Love for its next issue. "Paper Romance" (about a country gal pining for her big-city pen pal) would already be enough to make this single issue a true collectible. Bernard Baily's cover, however, has also become a favorite in the growing field of Romance Comics collectors. The saucy image is clearly a classic contribution to Good Girl Art of the Golden Age, but could've just as easily graced a '60s underground comic. We don't know why Ditko didn't get to do the art for his own cover story, but Baily's work makes for twice the appeal to this scarce book.
This striking 6.0 copy has an impressive focal point and amazing colors above its grade, with only 4 copies graded higher in the CGC Census — out of a mere 32 listed!
