Vincent Discusses Investment Collectibles on WBBM Radio

Vincent Zurzolo, ComicConnect’s COO and co-owner of Metropolis Collectibles, the world’s largest dealership of vintage comics, recently discussed the investment collectibles market with Cisco Cotto of Chicago’s WBBM Newsradio Noon Business Hour.

Cisco inquired if only vintage comics have value or if some more recent comics can be an investment opportunity as well. “Vintage comic books are definitely growing,” Zurzolo acknowledged. “We’ve seen incredible demand for them over the last few years, especially during the pandemic, at the same time modern comics are getting scooped up at extraordinary prices.” He pointed out the low print runs, special artists, and variant covers that are driving collectors to shell out record prices for modern investments.

Zurzolo explained that it is never too late to begin investing in comics and in the collectibles market. “You can delve into the comic book market right now, whether old or new, and hold on to them,” he said. “What’s great about collectibles over the last few decades we have seen a steady growth in the market, and in the last year, we’ve seen exponential growth.” Zurzolo mentioned that some comics he sold for $100,000 last year are already selling for upwards of $300,000 today.
