Michonne 1970s styleReportedly, a person referring to himself as "Ghost" commissioned a run of variant covers for TWD #101, and they were delivered to seemingly random dealerships across the country. Rumor is that "Ghost" variants will materialize again, but nobody know where or when. This particular cover was rendered by Jim Rugg, creator of "Street Angel" and "Afrodisiac", and it re-imagines Michonne as a blaxploitation character along the lines of Foxy Brown or Cleopatra Jones. Sporting a mighty afro and her signature katana, she looks poised to decapitate some walkers on her way over to the discotheque for a night on the town. Jim Rugg is known for his tongue-in-cheek evocation of 1970s-era comics and pop-culture.
