Shelly Moldoff pencils and inks; 15" x 22"
VERY RARE (to say the least)Hawkman and Hawkgirl, featured in the lower right panel, take after the classic petty crook archetype dressed his gaudy checked blazer. What makes this piece even better is the colaboration of a Gardner Fox story with illustration from Shelly Moldoff, masters of the era, c. 1944.
Artist Information
Moldoff is best known for his early work on DC's Hawkman and Hawkgirl, and was one of Bob Kane's primary "ghost artists" on Batman. He co-created the Batman villains Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, the second Clayface, and Bat-Mite, as well as the original heroes Bat-Girl, Batwoman, and Ace the Bat-Hound.
