Artist Information

José Luis Salinas moved to the United States, where he joined King Features. For this syndicate, he illustrated the newspaper strip of O'Henry's 'Cisco Kid' from 1951 to 1968. After 'Cisco Kid', Salinas focused on painting and illustration work, only returning to comics in 1971 to do the 'Gunner' strip with scripts by Alfreddo Grassi. His son, Alberto Salinas, also became a comic artist.
