Paul Gulacy pencils and inks; image size 11.75" x 16"Slash Maraud was a miniseries published in the late 80s that was definitely heavily influenced by the sci-fi and post-apocalyptic media that was being served up to the public during that dayglow decade. Maraud was a hard-boiled hero in the mold of Rick Deckard and Snake Plissken and his take-no-prisoners attitude got him into all sorts of trouble. This Paul Gulacy cover drawing shows Slash being held captive by a group of menacing female fighters that look like they just escaped from Sin City. Gulacy is known for his realism and impeccable eye for detail and this cover displays his formidable skills in every nook and cranny. Cult books like Maraud always have their deeply devoted fans and we are sure that there are some Slash addicts that are going to want to bring this baby home. Copper Age comics and art are beginning to be more sought after in the collectibles marketplace as readers of a certain age begin to wax nostalgic about their youthful memories.
