ow/white pgs; no Marvel chipping, beautiful colors
origin & 1st app of Spider-Man (Peter Parker), 1st Uncle Ben & Aunt May (8/62) Comic Book Impact rating of 10 (CBI)

This iconic comic remains the Silver Age equivalent of Action Comics #1 as both a cultural artifact and a great investment for collectors. Jack Kirby ushered in the historic first appearance of Spider-Man on the classic cover; Steve Ditko took over the interior art as he worked with co-creator Stan Lee on this legendary debut. The story also set up the radical new concept of a neurotic Everyman behind the mask All of that made for a timeless collectible that's kept Spider-Man (and his very human alter-ego) swinging for over 60 years as one of the most iconic characters in comics.

A boastful 7.5, this book will command a high price. The bright red contrasts with the slightly muted blue and faded green to create a striking visual impression. This iconic piece of history denotes a seismic shift in the superhero genre in the most-crisp detail. Spider-Man swings into frame, face completely obscured, inviting the viewer to see themselves in his guise. He is everyone and no one and he's taking on those who would do harm to innocents, boldly standing up for the weak, while inspiring an entirely new generation of emotionally vulnerable superheroes.

Considering the two 8.0 sales in the last six months for $250,000 and $261,000, this book is a steal! Get into it now before its too late, dont wait for the next record breaking price at auction, to pay more!

Overstreet Guide 2018 VF- (7.5) value = $77,000.

Artist Information

Jack Kirby is called 'The King of Comics' for a reason, during his career that spanned six decades he gave us many of the most iconic characters the medium would ever see. From his introduction of Captain America at the height of World War II it was clear he wasn't your ordinary comics artist. But it was his creative explosion at Marvel Comics in the 1960's that cemented his legacy, over a short period of time Kirby would give us The Fantastic Four, Iron Man, The Hulk, The X-Men, Thor, Ant-Man and Nick Fury just to name a few. Kirby would then go to DC and create his Fourth World, introducing Darkseid, Mister Miracle, The New Gods and a host of cosmic supporting players. Long live The King.
