There was a trend in Golden Age comics to publish books featuring historical figures, and tell their tales of real-life heroism, in hopes of inspiring patriotic emotions in readers who were struggling to come to terms with the devastations of the war brewing over in Europe and the Pacific theater. World Famous Heroes Magazine #1 presented stories featuring such American legends as General George C. Marshall, Lewis and Clark, John Paul Jones, Robert E. Peary, William A. Bishop, Paul Revere, and David Crockett. The Paul Gustavson cover illustration shows all of these great men marching toward the reader with resolve and conviction on their stoic faces.

This is the second-highest graded copy of this issue on the census, and it shows, the kaleidoscopic colors on this cover are extremely bright, and the cover is clean and free of markings. This Denver pedigree copy, which comes from the Jon Berk collection is a real humdinger. For fans of historical comics this book hits the sweet spot on all counts.
