Printed in November 1941, mere days before the US entered into WWII, Champ Comics #16 is a fantastic example of a Golden Age anthology comic, it covers all the bases: espionage, sabotage, aerial combat, science-fiction, superheroes, Good Girl Art, sports, and even a touch of horror. Standing on the precipice of war, it is easy to see the anticipation and anxiety concerning the worldwide conflict in these pages, the artists and writers must have been keenly aware of the mood in the country, and provided stories that addressed these national concerns. GA collectors will get exactly what they are looking for if they pick up a copy of this exceedingly scarce comic.
