EC’s grisly output was a robust mixture of horror, humor, and some Good Girl Art thrown in to up the ante an extra notch. The thing that was missed by those out to censor comics back in the 50s was that there was usually some sort of moral to these terror tales, in this issue a hunter that kills for sport discovers he is now the quarry, and a man who wants a woman to fall in love with him at any cost pays the ultimate price. Even in our jaded modern age, these anthology books continue to pack a serious punch, due in no small part to the incredibly talented creative team at EC whose work will always be considered one of the most important chapters in the history of the industry.
