Pg. 15; Jack Kirby pencils and signed, Frank Giacoia inks; 10" x 15"
The release of Captain America #200 coincided neatly with America's bicentennial, giving this milestone issue dual importance. The page on offer here features the Falcon in every panel, drawn with the typical panache and skill of Kirby. The action focuses on Sam Wilson racing to prevent the Elite's William Taurey from detonating the Madbomb "Big Daddy," and every corner of the page is chock-full of unmistakably Kirby-esque details, assisted by Frank Giacoia's rich, moody inks. The Falcon is a major player in the MCU, thanks to his inclusion in the Avengers film franchise, and his upcoming show on the Disney+ streaming service. This wonderful page is a perfect display piece for fans of Kirby, the Falcon, and Silver Age Marvel art in general.

VF: 8.0
Pg. 3; Jack Kirby pencils, Chic Stone inks; signed by multiple Marvel artists and Stan Lee; 12.5" x 18.5"; comes with a color xerox of the cover, and a photo of Jack Kirby with fans
Okay, now this is sweet. The page comes framed with an image of Jack "The King" Kirby posing with a pair of young fans, and is signed by a roster of Marvel royalty. From the beloved second FF annual, it features not only a smorgasbord of vintage Thing panels, including our boy Ben handily wrecking a classic car, but also the original FF lineup, PLUS the Fantasticar! Your 10-year-old self wants you to have this precious (and awesome) gift, one that can't help but palpitate the hearts of any true Marvel-ite-iac.

Wouldya look at the hands that this page has passed through over the years -- Neal Adams, Gene Colan, John Buscema, Marie Severin, John Romita, Marv Wolfman, Len Wein, and even Stan "The Man" Lee, all have signed this incredible piece of Marvel history. Original Silver Age comic art can be a solid investment, sure, but it's incredible pieces like this that get the fanboy in any collector all giddy, and transform collectible investments into treasured heirlooms. And, yes, it's even more awesome in person.

Pg. 18; Jack Kirby pencils, Chic Stone inks; image size 16" x 22.75"
We sold two early J.I.M pages by Kirby, in auction, collectively for $56K, consider this a bargain!
The King's work on this page from Journey Into Mystery #105 provides a masterclass in composition, done only the way Kirby can. From the cinematic first panel, with Mr. Hyde and the Cobra framed by Thor's muscular legs, to the final panel, where the Thunder God attempts to subdue both of the baddies at the same time, Kirby displays his absolute control over the page, leading the action perfectly, telling the story seamlessly from scene to scene. The underlying plot in this issue concerns the potential romance between Thor's alter-ego, Dr. Donald Blake, and his love interest, Jane Foster, which is slyly inserted into these action panels without skipping a beat. Another great Kirby page from the Marvel Age.

Pg. 29, Jack Kirby pencils, Joe Sinnott inks; 14" x 21"
After facing down M.O.D.O.K. Cap and Agent-13 beat a hasty retreat from A.I.M. headquarters, only to be harassed and slowed down by a couple of "beekeepers." Agent-13 delivers a hard "FZAT" to one of the baddies, then Cap uses a well-placed shield toss to stymie the remaining A.I.M. team members and prevent their escape. Jack Kirby places the reader squarely in the middle of the action as this page moves at a rapid pace. One can almost feel the race against time our protagonists are subjected to, as, once again, Kirby proves why he is called the King and will retain that title for all time.

Pg. 12; Jack Kirby pencils, Vince Colletta inks; image size 12" x 19.5"
Kang's creature feature of the month, the Growing Man, squares off with the Mighty Thor in this thrilling issue. This interior half-splash has bombastic panel-to-panel combat scenes, complete with onomatopoeia action as Thor bludgeons Growing Man with his trusty Mjolnir. Kirby's at his finest illustrating superhero skirmishes and a piece like this improves with every viewing! The King churned out pages at an astonishing rate, and each unique piece is as impressive as the next. There is a veritable smorgasbord of Jack's work in this auction, and his devoted fans are sure to be chomping at the bit to bid on these beauties.

Pg. 2; Jack Kirby pencils, Vince Colletta inks, image size 15" x 10"
This page from Thor #154 has the Thunder God speeding off to check up on his beau, Sif, as she is convalescing in a hospital bed after surviving a battle between Thor and his brother, Loki. The story depicted in these panels shows the softer side of Jack Kirby, who was equally adept in his handling of cosmic battles and quiet moments such as this one. Vince Colletta's deft inks add to the gravity of this emotional page. This break in the action gives readers a moment to catch their breath and it's passages like this one that helped bond Marvel fans to their favorite heroes, showing their vulnerabilities thereby drawing us deeper into their tales of heroism.

RAGNAROK! "We know each other. He's a friend from work"
Ragnarok, according to Norse Mythology, is basically the end times, akin to Revelations in the bible. It involves the deaths of many of the gods above, while natural disasters wipe out the Earth below leading to rebirth once the devastation has concluded. The cover of Thor #157 takes on the remarkable mission of portraying the mayhem of an apocalyptic event, here rendered by none other than the "King" himself, Jack Kirby. The epic themes of the Thor series gave Kirby the freedom to go above and beyond the scope of many of his other Silver Age creations, employing more grandiose flourishes, the title allowed Kirby to grow as an illustrator and sharpen his abilities far beyond those of mere mortals.

The action on this cover shows Thor being crushed in the gigantic claw of Mangog, a creature that draws his power from hatred, chaos, and destruction, and, as is evident on this cover, there is plenty of fuel on which the demonic monster can feed. Many of Kirby's Thor covers tend to keep the God of Thunder off the center of the page and away from the majority of the action. Nobody really knows why the artist would shy away from making the main character dominant on his own covers, but this issue is an important exception. Thor is featured in full, right dab smack in the middle of this magnificent piece of art.

Jack Kirby art is always a solid investment and a huge point of interest in our auctions. When you add in the connection between this cover and the blockbuster film "Thor: Ragnarok" this piece will surely draw plenty of attention before the hammer drops, and we are not talking about Mjolnir here folks.

Kirby cvr; Ditko art; origin & 1st app. Spider-Man; 1st Uncle Ben & Aunt May (8/62)
This is the Silver Age equivalent of Action Comics #1: a historic, game-changing key issue that acts as a pivot point from what came before, and what came after. The creation of Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, this radical new concept featured a passive, neurotic, everyman hero; an unusually emotionally charged origin story touching on issues of mortality and family tragedy; a worldview grounded solidly in a real, recognizable universe obviously our own; and open-ended storytelling that rewarded close attention and regular readership. This milestone has also proven to be the success story of comics investment, growing rapidly and unstoppably in value and becoming one of the few completely bulletproof investments in recent times.

Amazing Fantasy #15 has proven time and time again to be one of the most prudent ventures in comic collecting. The issue's availability and demand keep Spidey fans coming back for higher and higher grade copies. The striking colors and iconic design on this cover look truly fantastic. This copy is as fresh as the day it was bought at some local newsstand or drug store, encapsulating the groundbreaking material contained within its pages.

The reds of Spidey's uniform really stand out against the muted background on this cover, a handsome copy to be sure. The minor condition issues don't affect from the iconic form at center, leaving the web-slinger clean and bright as he swings into comic book history.

Amazing Fantasy #15 is a sound investment at any grade, from the bottom to top of the census, this book continues to go up in value, and the reemergence of Spidey in the MCU has helped that upward trend continue. This particular copy has some chipping at the edge of the cover, but the focus of everyone's attention, that red-and-blue-suited hero dominates the page. This is a book no true comic collector can do without, and unlike many Golden Age keys, this issue is readily available and easy to find, better to snap up a copy before "Spider-Man: Far From Home" comes out and this baby jumps in price yet again.

This professionally restored copy of AF #15 is tied with the top copies on the census, and it looks like brand new. Restored books, once maligned and shunned, are now commonplace in the market, and this comic is going to go for a fraction of the price of an original condition at the same grade. This is a serious opportunity to bring home this top-ten key at a discount, it looks newsstand fresh, and there's a signature from the legendary Stan Lee on there to sweeten the pot.

The comic boasts a classic cover that appealed directly to the new youth market, which was already influencing pop culture with their hard-earned allowance money.

1st app. Baron Zemo, Masters of Evil
Since Marvel had restored a World War II hero to active duty, why not bring back a villain from the era? Enter Baron Zemo, a Nazi superscientist, who gathers a collection of baddies and dubs them the Masters of Evil (in case anyone was uncertain as to their intentions), plaguing the Avengers with Adhesive X, a nasty one-size-fits-all super-weapon for which our heroes must find the antidote. Capped off with a by-now-expected epic Kirby free-for-all cover image, the growing legion of Marvelites lapped up this treasure when it hit newsstands in the Spring of 1964.

first Spider-Man crossover
Stan Lee revived and redefined the concept of the team-up book in earlier issues of the Avengers, here Lee keeps the fire lit under his new title by putting a fan favorite, Spider-Man, prominently featured on the cover. Already a megastar by this point, Spidey never failed to bring flocks of dedicated readers along when appearing in other titles, and this was no exception. Jack Kirby drafted one of his few images of the teenage wallcrawler on this rare treat of a cover. Older readers may have been appalled to see their friendly neighborhood Spider-Man get top billing over Captain America, but, hey, it was the 60s and the times, they were a-changin'.
