Highest GradedWell, that looks painful. Even pre-WWII, Charles Biro was serving up wartime dogfight-and-fists action covers like this one to help MLJ's upstart hero anthology jump off the racks. This classic image gives a taste of the doggedly muscled action therein, the kind of over-the-top aggro menace that MLJ is remembered for to this day.There are only 10 copies of this comic on the CGC census, and this issue that is up at auction is the singular top graded in the mix, it is also one heck of a way to wrap up an Event Auction in style. Hailing from the storied Edgar Church collection, the Mile High pedigree pretty much ensures that this copy will go for many times the price listed in the Overstreet Guide, as all comics from this pedigree are in and of themselves sought after collectibles, regardless of which title or issue. Remaining in a state of suspended animation Mile High books are the gold standard of the Golden Age. This copy has the requisite white pages, glossy gleaming colors, and a construction that looks as though this book was never opened or read before it was sent to CGC for slabbing. The awesome Biro cover design is a wartime classic and has never looked better.
