"Murder In Mid-Air!" script by Steve Englehart, pencils by Tom Sutton, inks by Frank Giacoia and John Tartaglione (as John Tartag); Injured during his battle against Quasimodo, the Beast stumbles to the apartment shared with Patsy Walker and her husband Buzz; Only Patsy is home, and she takes the wounded Beast to her couch and administers first aid; In a delirious state the Beast reveals that he is really Hank McCoy and explains the series of events that led to him being turned into the Beast; While explaining that he was injured fighting Quasimodo, Beast considers the idea that he is continuing to mutate.
Artists Information
Frank Giacoia (July 6, 1924 – February 4, 1988) was an American comics artist known primarily as an inker. He sometimes worked under the name Frank Ray, Giacoia made the rounds to almost every Golden Age publisher, notably working on Flash and Batman stories, he also worked at Timely during this period. In the Silver Age Frank worked on many Jack Kirby pages, particularly in Captain America, and he also notably inked the first appearance of the Punisher in AMS #129.
After leaving the Navy as a photographer Jim Starlin began his career in comic books where he enjoyed success as both a writer and artist. Starlin credits legendary artists Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko as major influences to his illustration style which is apparent in his early works. For over 40 years hes been known for his space opera-esque stories where he created popular characters such as Thanos, Drax and Gamora. His most notable works include Iron Man Adam Warlock and the Infinity Gauntlet.
Tom Sutton was an American comic book artist who's best known for his work with Marvel comics and Warren Publishing. Tom's most notable works include Famous Monsters of Filmland, Creepy, and Marvel comics presents featuring the muck-monster Man-Thing.
