The Golden Age of Comics really got going once the US entered into WWII. Wonderworld Comics #30 was actually published a few months before the attack on Pearl Harbor, but war was already in the air thanks to news from overseas about the Nazi threat and other Axis powers. The thrilling cover of this issue shows The Flame melting his way through a piece of metal armor as he charges into battle against a couple of Nazi thugs. This issue also presents the premiere of Flame Girl, a newly minted sidekick for the main protagonist.
