rare; WWII flag cover, Hitler coverIf its a classic Hitler cover you want, this rare first issue has it all. Four different Hitler images appear on this early golden age Jim Mooney cover. The four main characters each have their turn to kick Hitler's butt which was what most Americans wanted to do in 1941. Aaron and Rose Wyn began publishing pulps in 1928 through their company Ace Magazines. Seeing an obvious money-making opportunity in the early 1940s, the couple threw their lot in to compete with the dizzying array of comic publishers crawling out of the woodwork. Along with the requisite superhero books, the company also produced horror, romance, and crime titles. One of their more-ambitious projects, Four Favorites, was a collection of superhero tales that would showcase four complete hero stories. Unleashing Golden Age crime fighters Magno, the Magnetic Man, Lash Lightning, The Unknown Soldier, The Flag, and others, Ace's superhero books were generally considered to be a cut above the output of second-tier publishers of the time.
