In addition to introducing readers to Dr. Bruce Banner and his brutal alter-ego, Incredible Hulk #1 marks the first appearances of Betty Ross, Rick Jones, and General "Thunderbolt" Ross (the latter set to remain a major part of the Disney+ Marvel Universe). The iconic cover image continues to resonate with fans to this day.
Stan Lee demanded a change after the botched coloring process for this book. The second issue would change the Hulk from a blotchy gray to his green-skinned glory. Hulk would then survive his own title’s quick cancellation to keep thrilling comics fans, eventually coming back with a top-selling book and a hit '70s television show. From there, the Hulk’s return to the big-screen Avengers reignited the public’s passion for both the troubled hero and his alter-ego of Dr. Bruce Banner.
The extensive pro restoration work done on this copy of one of the biggest Silver Age keys is exceptional, effectively sending this book through a portal in time back to 1962 and the day it rolled off the printing press, possibly in even better condition than that! Due to the fact that this copy is in a CBCS holder, it does not appear on the CGC census, but according to the census, this is the highest graded copy of this comic in existence. When you put it together, you can own the best copy of an important key, for the price of a restored copy, seems like a sweet deal any way you slice it.
