Spider-Man's first appearance in Amazing Fantasy #15 was an overnight sensation, leading to a hurriedly prepared solo title from co-creators Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. (Marvel still brought in the top-selling Fantastic Four on the cover as insurance.) The book remains one of the cornerstones of comic collecting--featuring the first appearance of J. Jonah Jameson as one of the most iconic supporting characters in the history of comics. The book is also notable for including The Chameleon as Spidey’s first supervillain. The shape-shifting spy has been one of the major missing figures in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and is finally set to make his big-screen debut in this year’s Kraven the Hunter film.

The first family of Marvel appears on this copy in style, boasting bright colors while they surround Spidey, whose uniform is equally sunny and well-preserved. The wear along the right side of the cover is situated in a manner that does little to detract from the inherent power of this iconic and desirable key. A perfect copy for collectors who dream of owning this issue but find themselves on the outside looking in when higher grade examples come up at auction. This comic, at any grade, is a surefire investment book, we advise you get in on the action now before the prices go up on this book once again.
