Captain America by Simon & Kirby; Sub-Mariner by Everett; Human Torch by Burgos (Summer 41)All Winners Comics #1 was Timely's answer to DC's World's Finest. For the first time in the history of the "Marvel Universe," all of the company's flagship characters, Sub-Mariner, Captain America, and Human Torch appeared together on the front cover. Released shortly after Captain America Comics #1, this issue features a very early appearance of the Star Spangled Avenger, and would serve as a precursor to later Marvel teams such as the Avengers, X-Men and Fantastic Four.
This stunning copy of All Winners Comics #1 earned a 5.5 Universal Grade from CGC with beautiful off-white pages. Featuring the first appearance of the All Winners Squad in a classic Stan Lee story, this issue unites all of Timely's greatest characters including Captain America, Bucky, Human Torch, Sub-Mariner, The Angel, and Black Marvel. All of these heroes appear together on this iconic Schomburg cover. Along with all the memorable characters, this book unites great creators, including Carl Burgos, Jack Kirby, Joe Simon, Bill Everett, Stan Lee, and Alex Schomburg. This is the very definition of Golden Age glory, even including an appearance by classic Timely foil Adolf Hitler. The dark logo on the cover truly pops against the sharp yellow background. This book just turned 80 years old, but it hides its age far better than most octogenarians.
