DESCRIPTION

Lot of 6 Al Smith Rural Delivery 1958 -1985 daily strips; image size 19.25" x 5.5" - 24" x 6.25"Al Smith took over Mutt and Jeff and drew that strip for nearly 50 years, his Rural Delivery strip repurposed many of the early Mutt and Jeff strips with him changing the text and drawing new faces and pasting them over the originals, Mutt became Julius, and Jeff became Romeo. These are all examples of re-used Mutt and Jeff strips. Pen and ink. Art is in good condition, the strips show evidence of age, including glue staining and other imperfections.
