Vincent Zurzolo, COO of Metropolis Collectibles and the auction house ComicConnect, appeared on the Rollye James Show on WGN radio to chat about comics. “Is there gold in your attic?” Rollye James asked as she opened the phone lines.
Vincent discussed how scarcity, popularity of characters, and overall condition play a role in creating value in the marketplace. He also discussed the subject of how his partner, Stephen Fishler, was instrumental in the adoption of both third-party grading of comic books as well as the universally accepted 10-point comic grading scale. “CGC is head and shoulders above the competition,” Zurzolo said. “CGC is the only place I’d send my comics.”
Zurzolo also discussed the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide, trends in pricing, signed comics, and offered to help Rollye’s callers with free appraisals by emailing him images or lists to email@example.com. “Is there gold in your attic?” Zurzolo asked, “I can help you find out and turn it in to cash.”
