This landmark anthology comic features, nine, count them, NINE superheroes in this first issue. More than half of the crew would go on to form the Justice Society two issues later. The endearing cover dazzled the reader with four scenes from a variety of tales featuring this stellar ensemble. The Spectre's bust-out panel was taken from his appearance within this very issue, while the Flash's explosive panel was taken from Flash Comics 1. Scour the archives long enough and you will find the Sandman panel was taken from Adventure Comics 51, and Ultra-Man was swiped from the cover of All-American Comics 11. It's a veritable superhero mix tape, so fresh, so ill.
With any Golden Age comic, the words Very Fine or Near Mint are usually far from the conversation. This very well-kept gem found its way into the year 2016 with very little deleterious interference. Only one copy in the world is certified higher than this one and you need to ask yourself, will I ever have another shot at this comic? Maybe not, perhaps in two more decades &maybe. Bid aggressively, dear reader.ÿý
