yellow peril cover; Irwin Hasen art (11/40)The short-lived series, Detective Eye, was certainly one of the more oddball entries into the Golden Age annals, as the title's protagonist "the Eye" was simply that, a disembodied eye that championed the concept of justice among beings it encountered. It would be difficult to find a more abstract and original hero in any comic from any era, save the Underground Comix of the 60s and 70s. Enjoying cult success in the pages of Keen Detective Funnies, the Eye remains one of the more interesting and esoteric characters in the history of the industry.Other than the detached cover this book is an 8.0.
