Rarely does comic art ever go this far to combine implied social satire with explicit grossness. These may be among the most-outrageous panels ever printed in a comic, showing the intimate torture and dismemberment of the depraved autocratic "Governor" by the walker-hardened, conflicted warrior woman, Michonne, whom he has previously betrayed, raped, and tormented. Given their sick relationship, the situation is horrifically kinky. The top panel shows her army-booted foot on his throat. Then opposing panels zoom in on his helpless expression of horror and her determined look of rage and hatred as she begins to dig one of his eyeballs out with a spoon.
