Milton Caniff was a master of the strip comic, his style perfectly slotted in to the limited space allotted as he made the most of each panel, and his dialogue was employed to maximum effect as well. His Steve Canyon Sunday pages were particularly popular in the 50s as America was involved in the Korean War, Caniff was an extremely patriotic citizen and his love for the armed forces was reflected in his art. This particular strip shows Canyon in one of his more romantic moods, as he helps his lady friend Summer deal with the stress of having to find a new home. The neat trick Caniff pulls off is attracting readers from both sexes by including some military content along with the love story in these panels. Fans of strip art, Steve Canyon or post-war comic art will all be looking to bid on this excellent piece created by a legend in his field.
