Warlord was a Sword and Sorcery comic that began life in the mid-70s and lasted into the late '80s. For the first six years of the run, Mike Grell wrote and penciled the cult favorite. The cover for issue #18 is a brash and exciting illustration, featuring Travis Morgan, aka The Warlord, zapped by an alien creature in an aircraft while he drags damsel in distress Tara behind him. Grell's sharp and assured line work is on full display on this action-packed cover from fantasy comics' early days, an era that many remember fondly. Bronze Age art and memorabilia is selling at a premium as collectors fight over pieces that remind them of their youth.
