"But Bork Can Hurt You!"

Neal Adams is one of the most recognizable names in comic book history. The artist's revolutionary take on Batman and his immense impact on the style of Silver Age comics resonate into the modern day. Here we can see his take on the Flash, a character who was fleshed out by the dynamic Carmine Infantino, whose indelible stamp was left on the speedy hero. Taking his cue from Infantino, Adams brings his penchant for realism and adds in a little extra muscle on this spectacular page from Brave and the Bold #81, which shows the Sultan of Zoom speeding around the world in search of his quarry, the invulnerable Bork, in a quest that will eventually lead him to the Sun itself.

Artists Information

Richard "Dick" Giordano was an American comics artist and editor whose long and prosperous career included introducing Charlton Comics' "Action Heroes" stable of superheroes and serving as executive editor of DC Comics. He worked on a wide range of titles over the years, including Batman, Green Lantern/Green Arrow, Teen Titans, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Action Comics among countless others. His style was very much in the Neal Adams mold, making him a popular go-to artist in the 70s and 80s.

Vince Colletta is an American comic book artist/ art director who's best known for inking Jack Kirby's work during the Silver Age of comic books. Colletta began his career working on a host of 1950's romance and western comics before making the move to Marvel where he would ink some their earliest stories, including The Fantastic Four, Journey Into Mystery/Thor and Daredevil. He would go on to DC where he inked Kirby again on a host of Kirby's Fourth World titles in addition to work on Batman, Superman, Green Lantern and an almost 70 issue run on Wonder Woman.
