File CopyThis bound volume contains issues #42-58 of Black Cat Mystery, a beloved horror anthology of the pre-code era, which grew out of the female crime-fighting series Black Cat. Some of the most memorable and revered horror covers of the period came from this run of issues, including the prescient psychedelic Howard Nostrand cover of issue #45, the return of the titular heroine in issue #54, which saw the title morph into a western-themed adventure comic, and, the iconic and terrifying Lee Elias radiation burn cover of issue #50. There is a partial cover tear to issue #42, all other issues VF- to VF+.
