Speed Comics was one of Harvey Comics' anthology series that populated the overcrowded newsstands of the wartime era. The book featured the adventures of Shock Gibson, Captain Freedom, and eventually Black Cat, as the trio joined forces for several issues which enjoyed the great honor of being wrapped in illustrations by some of the biggest names of the Golden Age. This volume includes another breathtaking Alex Schomburg cover on issue #36, the Iwo Jima-themed cover of issue #8, attributed to Bob Powell, and a trio of action-packed Rudy Palais covers to round out the set.
