Spider-Man's first appearance in Amazing Fantasy #15 was an overnight sensation, leading to a hurriedly prepared solo title from co-creators Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. (Marvel still brought in the top-selling Fantastic Four on the cover as insurance.) The book remains one of the cornerstones of comic collecting--featuring the first appearance of J. Jonah Jameson as one of the most iconic supporting characters in the history of comics. The book is also notable for including The Chameleon as Spidey’s first supervillain. The shape-shifting spy has been one of the major missing figures in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and is finally set to make his big-screen debut in this year’s Kraven the Hunter film.

This copy of Spidey #1 is in shockingly good condition for its grade, despite some mild stains, this book is fetching overall. With many being priced out of the market for Amazing Fantasy #15, this issue has become in greater demand for Webhead fans who want to own a piece of the character's origins. One could do worse than this example, the colors are sharp, the book is solid, and the addition of the first family of Marvel sure doesn't hurt.
