ADVENTURE COMICS (1938-83) #103

DC

CGC NM-: 9.2
When DC decided to turn More Fun Comics into a children's title at issue #108, they transferred all of the book's superheroes over to Adventure Comics, Green Arrow, Aquaman, and Johnny Quick all made the move along with the newly introduced Superboy, a half-pint version of the Man of Steel, who appealed to younger readers and helped expand sales for the publisher. The playful cover design announced the retooling of Adventure Comics into the home for the youthful Kryptonian.

This 9.2 copy is in great condition, the saturated blue background tones are clean and smooth, and the tomfoolery with the car in the foreground brings to mind a toned-down version of Action Comics #1, complete with stunned onlooker. A simply breathtaking copy of an important Golden Age DC treasure.

Overstreet Guide 2018 NM- (9.2) value = $5,400.
