Superman firing squad bondage cover
December 1940. Superman leaps to the rescue and stays the trigger-fingers of a military firing squad on this brilliantly crafted cover by Fred Ray.

Those goons knew they were going to be in trouble when the Last Son of Krypton leapt in there to interrupt their firing squad. The Joe Shuster illustration on this cover boasts bright colors that still retain their glow, the binding is firm, and the book is in admirable condition despite some light shadowing, the thrilling central image is as clean and clear as the day it was printed. You can almost feel the wind rushing at you as the Man of Steel lands. Readers can experience the same sense of relief as the condemned man Superman is protecting as he absorbs the bullets intended for the helpless victim on this classic cover.
