Edgar Church / Mile High Copy
Highest Graded
CGC NM+: 9.6
Beginning life as the Fantom of the Fair, a superhero who was designed solely to cash in on the fervor surrounding the 1939 World's Fair, the masked hero managed to gain some traction during his run at Centaur and was eventually rechristened Fantoman, and gifted his own title, which lasted for a brief time before the publisher went out of business. Issue #4 is the last of the character's run, the thrilling cover shows Fantoman swinging in to save a damsel in distress from a ferocious warrior in true Golden Age pulp fashion.

It will come as no surprise that this top of the census copy is graced with the Mile High pedigree, suspended in time, this comic is in pristine condition, it's almost impossible that a book dating back nearly eighty years remains in such a state, but that is why the Edgar Church collection is universally recognized as the gold standard in Golden Age comics. Like most of the other books from this legendary pedigree, Fantoman #4 is sure to be the center of some animated competition in our upcoming Event Auction.
