1st story app. and origin Dr. Mid-Nite1st Hop Harrigan as Guardian AngelCharles McNider was injured by a grenade when removing a bullet from a witness who was set to testify against a mobster. After recovering, McNider discovered he could only see in perfect darkness. He built a visor to help him see in the light and various inventions that would help him fight crime - as Dr. Mid-Nite. Dr. Mid-Nite later became a member of the Justice Society of America and the name has been assocaited with three DC characters. This is a key, early (April 1941) superhero DC book.
