A 15% BUYER'S PREMIUM WILL BE ADDED TO THIS ITEM AT CONCLUSION OF THE AUCTION crm/ow pages classic Syd Shores WWII Hitler, Goering, and Goebbels cover Bobby Blue CollectionHitler, Goering, and Goebbels are not names that are generally associated with lightweight humor, but in the jingoistic days of WWII, the horrors of the conflict raging overseas became the fodder for ridicule and satire back in the good old USA. The comic book industry was way ahead of the curve when it came to challenging the Axis and its figureheads, and Captain America led the pack from his very first issue, with Hitler playing impotent foil to the First Avenger time and time again. This cover depicts der Fuhrer being airlifted out a car by Cap, who hangs from the wing of a fighter plane as Bucky sprays bullets at all the enemy soldiers in the vicinity. The hilarious looks of shock and bewilderment on the faces of Adolph's toadies are the icing on the cake, making this an undeniable classic image of the Golden Age. Syd Shores exposes the Nazi threat as a joke when confronted with the might of American muscle and daring.
