Published in October of 1989, legendary artist Jim Lee created a stunning Punisher & Black Widow spider cover!
I personally love to collect any badass Punisher covers, and when I first came across this particular copy, I just could not stop staring at it! It was just so damn captivating with that beautiful, bright cherry red background bringing out the gigantic Black Widow spider entangling the Punisher within its intricate webbing!
The attention to detail is superb, as Jim Lee captured a realistic feel of the Punisher struggling to avoid a venomous bite, while gripping two of the spider’s legs with his feet positioned awkwardly on the superpowered web of the Black Widow!
This cover definitely depicts a nightmare scenario, and hence the caption is appropriately titled:
DREAMTIME WITH THE BLACK WIDOW!
Furthermore, Jim Lee covers are still underappreciated, especially within his early Punisher War Journal run, but perhaps that will change down the road?
