American comic book writer and artist known for works on a variety of comics including Superman, Spider-Man, Batman, Scooby-Doo, Katy Keene, Star Wars, and G.I. Joe.
Javier Saltares began his career in the mid-1980s working on 'Astro-Busters' and 'The Roosevelt Project' for DC Comics. He then moved over to Marvel Comics, where he contributed to Marvel Universe, and to titles like 'Iron Man', 'Nightmask', 'Spitfire', 'Wonder Man', and the comic adaptation for the 'Robocop' movie. In 1990s, he additionally returned to DC with contributions to 'Catwoman' and 'Flash'. In this decade, he was a regular on Marvel's 'Ghost Rider', a title to which he returned in 2006. Saltares was also present at Dark Horse, with a regular run on 'X' and the miniseries 'Aliens vs. Predator: Duel'.
