Peter Poplaski pencils and inks; cover; 1999; image size 13" x 16.5"From the hardcover All Star Comics Archive collection comes Wonder Woman, Johnny Thunder, Dr. Mid-Nite, Dr. Fate, Sandman, Starman, Hawkman, and the Spectre, all boldly illustrated by Poplaski. This bold, heroic image would hold a place of honor on the wall of any Golden Age aficionado. Pen and ink. Art is in excellent condition. Signed by Poplaski.
Artist Information
Peter Poplaski started his comics career in the underground comix scene in the early 1970s. He contributed stories to comix like Pro Junior, Orcrist and fanzine Erb-dom. Later, he became a Marvel artist, drawing covers for Superman books and working on 'Spider-Man'. Pete Poplaski was also the editor of 'Male Call, 1942-1946', a book aout the famous comic by Milton Caniff, and editor of the 'R. Crumb Coffee Table Art Book' by Robert Crumb, which was nominated for a Harvey Award. He's become one of the go-to artists for providing covers for reprint books recreating classic artists styles, at which he has become proficient.
